Who It's For

Built for people who work while others sleep

Health care providers, paramedics, police, firefighters, plant and warehouse crews, and anyone else whose week changes with the rotation.

Your Schedule

Days, nights, and 12s

  • Rotating shifts — sessions placed around work days, night stretches, and days off
  • Sleep comes first — hard sessions land when you're rested, not after a set of nights
  • Short on time — 30–45 minute workouts can make the difference
  • Plans that flex — swap a shift or pick up overtime, and we adjust your week
Your Goals

Structure, not guesswork

  • A race on the calendar — first sprint through to full distance triathlon, or a 5K to half or full marathon
  • Tired of restarting — consistency that survives every new rotation
  • Strength and resilience — a body that holds up to long shifts and training
  • A coach who gets it — feedback from someone who lives the shift work life
About TRI.FIT.NM

Coaching built around you

Shift work makes generic plans fall apart by week two. Every TRI.FIT.NM plan starts with your rotation: we build each week around when you work, when you sleep, and when you have time to train, then adjust as your schedule changes.

01

Plan Around Your Rotation

Key sessions scheduled for your days off and day shifts; lighter work around nights.

02

Protect Recovery

Sleep and recovery are part of the plan, not an afterthought.

03

Train with Purpose

Every session has a defined goal, so short windows still count.

04

Stay Injury Resilient

Integrated strength training is not an option, it's a requirement.

Hey, I'm Max — founder and head coach of TRI.FIT.NM.

Throughout my own training, I've had a wonderful experience with my own coach, and now I am eager to pass that forward to athletes who are starting out or building their fitness up through triathlon. I want to make it a challenging, yet an enjoyable, and personalized training experience for you.

My approach blends endurance and mandatory strength into one system, built around intentional progression, recovery, and adaptation.

I've spent 10 years working shift work in the ICU, 6 as a Registered Nurse and 4 as a Physician Assistant. I know the long shifts, the stretches of nights, and the fatigue that follows you into your days off. I've come home after a night shift with a workout on the calendar and nothing left in the tank, and I've watched plenty of training plans fall apart because they were written for a 9-to-5 life.

What kept me training was structure that worked with my schedule instead of against it: harder sessions on days I was actually rested, easier movement after nights, short strength sessions I could fit in before or after a shift, and permission to adjust when a week went sideways. Fatigue is part of shift work, but it doesn't have to mean giving up on your goals. That's the approach I bring to every athlete I coach.

As far as racing goes, I enjoy races in my home city — Winnipeg, MB, Canada — but I'm passionate about using triathlon as a way to vacation and explore the world, with recent 70.3 distance Xtreme triathlons in Quebec, Nepal and Slovakia. Training in the Prairies, and racing in the mountains just makes this sport so much more gratifying.

Working in the ICU also gave me a deep appreciation for good functional status, endurance and the strength that keep us moving well through life. That perspective is where my passion for everyday movement comes from — what better way to challenge ourselves than through the sport of triathlon. But if triathlon isn't for you, let me help you reach any other endurance or strength goals you may have.

So let's train today, for a better tomorrow.

Athletes

What athletes say

MS
Megan S.
Running & Strength

"Max is an exceptional personal trainer! He is attentive, intentional with workouts, and motivational. Max introduced me to zone running which forced me to slow down, but I felt a huge shift in my pace during tempo runs! I would highly recommend Max as a personal trainer!!"

VG
Victoria G.
First Super Sprint Triathlon

"My experience with Max was nothing short of excellence. I had big goals, going from completely out of shape (not working out at all) to being able to finish my first triathlon… Progressively increasing intensity while not overwhelming me… The end result being a successful race, surpassing my initial goals and giving me the confidence to wholeheartedly believe that I truly can do anything."

Michael A.
Running

"Max's training plan was the gateway for me to go from the couch to a respectably athletic person. The 8 week running program he tailored got me from no running, to regularly doing 5km runs under 30 minutes."

Felicia G.
Running & First Sprint Triathlon

"Swimming was my biggest concern, so Max watched me swim in both the pool and open water, helping me refine my technique and become more efficient. A week before the race, I actually felt confident enough that swimming was no longer something I worried about."

Marygrace
First Triathlon

"Max was an excellent coach! Having a program to follow made training so much more manageable instead of doing it myself… I really appreciated it when he made a mock triathlon for me before my actual race. Training for my first triathlon was very enjoyable and I will definitely be working with Max again."
